EP.FRI.183 Laparoscopic management of strangulated paracaecal hernia causing small bowel obstruction. Case report and review of the literature

Abstract Background and Aim Paracaecal hernia is a rare type of internal usually presenting with picture small bowel obstruction. In this report we present case strangulated paracaecal managed laparoscopically aim to spot the light on hernia. Case Report A 68- year- old lady was admitted colicky lower abdominal pain, vomiting distention. CT scan her abdomen pelvis demonstrated multiple dilated loops transition point in right iliac fossa. The patient taken theatre where she underwent laparoscopic reduction had uneventful post-operative recovery discharged home day four post-operatively. Conclusion Despite being cause for intestinal obstruction, it should be part differential diagnosis especially absence previous operations. Early recognition prompt surgical treatment key prevent complications. Laparoscopic approach feasible if expertise available.
